The 2-day PSI Certificate of Completion Course, taught by experienced and engaging faculty, is a thorough and evidence-based curriculum designed for nurses, physicians, mental health providers, social workers, childbirth professionals, public health providers, social support providers, or anyone interested in acquiring skills to assess and treat perinatal mood disorders. At the end of this course participants will have a Certificate of Course Completion in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Components of Care, and an increased ability to screen, assess, diagnose, treat, and support women and their families through perinatal mental health difficulties. Registration includes an extensive training binder, handouts, breakfast and lunch, and continuing education credits.

Social Support Groups & Support to Latina Moms Workshop

In this one-day workshop, you’ll learn from expert panelists who have successfully developed social support groups, systems and sustainable projects in their communities. Come share your questions, challenges, and successes, and learn about essential elements of a strong program and network.
The afternoon will focus on creating and sustaining successful programs to support Latina mothers and families.
The workshops will be facilitated to include ample time for questions, discussion, and networking. Workshop includes breakfast, lunch, and materials.
Developing Sustainable Perinatal Social Support Groups and Networks in Your Community
“Lessons from Tried, True and Tested Social Support Networks”
From the birth of a network, planning, birthing, and following through to a successful delivery, we'll hear from panelists about building relationships with community partners; the flow of social support networks - phone lines, groups, email, and social media; running support groups; effective support for Dads; working with Volunteers - recruiting, training, and sustaining; developing an organization; creating your public image and message; and the challenges and successes of fundraising.
Creating Support Systems for Latina Mothers & Families

Our panel will present a variety of successful projects and discuss your questions about providing support and treatment for pregnant and postpartum Latina moms and families. Topics will cover the cultural implications of developing peer support networks for Latina moms, effective childbirth education, training staff and volunteers, involving fathers, running support groups and telephone support, and the difficulty of navigating resources for undocumented women.

The Reproductive Psychiatry Seminar is a unique opportunity for learning and indepth discussion with top experts in the field. Dr. Cirino will present the curriculum she has developed at the Oregon Health and Sciences University and facilitate discussion about what other faculty use in academic settings.

PSI Coordinators & Volunteers Meeting and Dinner
Thursday, June 28, 6:30pm - 9:30pm
We Love our Volunteers. PSI Volunteers provide support, information and resources on our PSI Warmline or within their local communities. Our Annual Volunteer's Meeting and Dinner will take place on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 6:30pm - 9:30pm. This meeting is our yearly opportunity to connect with, support and learn from one another. We will discuss common goals, challenges and solutions, and share strategies to develop successful support networks. The dinner is sponsored by PSI, free to current volunteers. If you are a PSI Volunteer, please reserve a place by selecting Registration Ticket #4 at the top of the page. If you are not a PSI Volunteer, but are interested in volunteering, please contact Wendy Davis at wdavis@postpartum.net.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations received on or before 5/27/12 will receive a refund of full amount paid minus a $50 processing fee. Alternately, participants can transfer their registration as a tax-deductible donation to the PSI 2012 Las Vegas Volunteer Scholarship fund. Contact us at psioffice@postpartum.net if you would like to turn your refund into a donation!
Cancellations received between 5/28/12 and 6/17/12 will be refunded 50% of registration fee.
No refund will be issued for cancellations received after 6/17/12. Late requests for refunds due to a family emergency will be considered only on a case-by-case basis.
